Hélder Araújo

Hélder F. Araújo earned his MD at the Instituto Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS), Universidade do Porto (UP), Porto, in 2005, after which he pursued one year of general medical residency and later began his Neurology training at Hospital S. João. He interrupted the Neurology residency after one year to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience.
He was admitted to the Graduate Program in Areas of Basic and Applied Biology (GABBA), UP, in 2008, and later to the Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGP) at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. He completed his PhD studies under the supervision of Dr. António Damásio in 2014 at USC, more specifically in the Brain and Creativity Institute (BCI).
He is currently working as postdoctoral research fellow at Brain and Creativity (BCI) at USC. Both his PhD studies and current studies are focused on behavioral and neural correlates of processes of self.
